One Central Park

Located two miles north of Manchester City Centre on the A62, One Central Park forms the centre piece of Central Park, which when completed will be the biggest urban business park in Europe. The underlying ethos is that of knowledge transfer from the academic knowledge base into the market place, using enterprise as the transfer mechanism. The aim is to create a steady flow of new knowledge based businesses which, as they grow and develop, will move onto the Park providing high grade employment opportunities for local people.

One Central Park Limited runs 120,000 sq. ft. of space devoted to business creation. It is a knowledge mill devoted to the economic regeneration of North and East Manchester through the processing of knowledge in new high growth enterprises to create new products, services and jobs. It houses a business creation unit, an incubator and serviced grow-on space, drawing them together to form an enterprise train which can take a business idea from concept to flotation. It also embraces a centre for the training of technicians, up to foundation degree level, providing a source of skilled labour for the emerging and growing companies to tap into.
